Principal's Message

It is with a heavy heart that I must say farewell to my Madison Family. My three and a half years here have been incredibly meaningful and uplifting for me. I have learned so much from my staff, students and families. Thank you so much for the opportunity to serve the Madison Community. I am confident that you will continue to grow and strive for success for your students both academically and social/emotionally. I wish you all the best and I will be sure to come back and visit! I will be moving on to Carver Elementary in SAUSD, so please keep in touch! My email is: sara.marin@sausd.us. I also want to introduce Dr. Kim Garcia who will serve as your new proud principal starting in July.

My name is Kim Garcia, and I am excited to join the Madison community as your new Principal. I am honored to join this school community and work alongside a dedicated team in service of our students and families.

As a Santa Ana resident and SAUSD educator for over 25 years, I have dedicated my career to serving students, families, and staff within our district. I began my journey in education as a Mild/Moderate Special Education teacher and later transitioned into roles as a CLAS Teacher, Curriculum Specialist, Program Specialist, and Site Administrator. I have served in the role of Principal the last 10 years, at 3 different schools.

Throughout my career, I have focused on building strong systems, advancing equity-centered practices, fostering innovation, and implementing the Community Schools model to support the whole child and strengthen family and community partnerships.

I have already begun to learn about the things that make Madison special and look forward to learning even more as I work alongside all of you, building meaningful relationships, and continuing the important work of supporting student success together.

Together. we will continue advancing SAUSD’s priorities of early literacy, English fluency, and college and career preparation for all students. This work begins in the earliest grades and continues through every stage of a student’s educational journey. Every grade level and every staff member plays an important role in helping students build the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to succeed.

Thank you for welcoming me into your school community. I look forward to meeting with staff, visiting classrooms, learning about the strengths of Madison, and working together to make the coming school year successful and meaningful for every student.
